On April 29, 2024, China’s Ministry of Emergency Management released the Draft for Comments on Safety Colors and Safety Signs, merging three previous national standards and unifying the country’s industrial safety signage system.
1、 Six Key Changes in the New Standard
a)Wider Scope: Includes industrial zones, public spaces, and campuses.
b)Refined Color Standards: Regulates hue deviation, brightness, and saturation.
c)New Graphic Symbols: 36 new and 34 updated icons for broader applications.
d)Standardized Sign Installation: Focus on longterm clarity and maintenance.
e)Integrated Pipe Marking Standards: Improves visual consistency.
f)Enhanced Global Compatibility: Minimizes misinterpretation.
2. How Should Floor Stickers Adapt?
a）Update to New Graphics to ensure compliance.
b）Follow the New Yellow + Black Triangle warning color scheme.
c）Add New Scene Icons, such as battery charging areas.
d）Upgrade Materials for better durability and antislip/oilresistance.
