Paris’s municipal squares are both repositories of historical architecture and vibrant public spaces for citizens and visitors alike. The core goal of this project was to enable these solemn historical sites to convey modern humanistic care. We delivered a thematic public welfare floor sticker solution for the square:
Visual Communication of Values We integrated French slogans such as “Non au harcèlement” (No to harassment), “Respect” (Respect), and “Solidarité” (Solidarity) into the floor stickers. Color-coded sections enhance visual memorability, allowing citizens to naturally absorb positive value guidance as they walk through the square.
Modern Dialogue with Historical Context The floor stickers feature a minimalist layout that echoes the classical architectural style. Bold colors like red, teal, and bright yellow create a striking visual contrast against the off-white historical buildings, while soft rounded corners preserve the square’s overall aesthetic, achieving a balance between historical ambiance and modern expression.
Optimization of Public Space Order
The color-coded design and slogan layout not only convey values but also help guide pedestrian flow during peak hours. This reduces disorderly stops and improves the square’s circulation efficiency.
This project elevated floor signage beyond mere navigation tools to become carriers of urban warmth, allowing the municipal square to retain its historical significance while also serving as a place where citizens experience public values firsthand.
